OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Anthropic said they will honor a shared robots.txt signal, proposed by Anthropic's Kevin Kelley under IETF consideration, letting publishers block AI-training crawlers via one new user-agent entry instead of listing each crawler separately. Anthropic has already implemented it; Google and Microsoft plan support in early 2027 (Microsoft specifies February 1, 2027), and OpenAI says 'coming months'.
