E Ink announced Kaleido 4, the successor to its widely used Kaleido 3 color e-paper technology, on October 15, 2026. E Ink says Kaleido 4 doubles color gamut volume to over 40,000 colors, increases white reflectance by 15%, boosts contrast by 50%, and supports video playback at up to 18fps thanks to a new oxide TFT backplane. Hanvon Technology's M10C II, a note-taking tablet, is the first device to use it and will only be available in China.E Inkは2026年10月15日、既存のKaleido 3の後継となるカラー電子ペーパー技術「Kaleido 4」を発表した。E Inkによると、色域体積が倍増し4万色以上を表現でき、白色反射率を15%、コントラストを50%向上させ、新しい酸化物TFTバックプレーンにより最大18fpsの動画再生が可能になったという。この技術を初めて搭載するのはHanvon Technologyのノート型タブレット「M10C II」で、中国限定での発売となる。
