Anthropic gave Claude plain-language specifications for eight quantum circuits spanning chemistry, optimization, physics simulation and number theory, paired with an automated evaluator scoring each design. Working largely autonomously, Claude produced circuit designs that Anthropic says improve on the best published versions, in some cases by an order of magnitude or more.
