SpaceXAI released Grok 4.7 on September 21, 2026, calling it its most capable model for coding and knowledge work. The company says it works longer on difficult tasks, checks its own work more carefully, and carries its best-calibrated safeguards to date. Grok 4.7 uses a new, larger base model than Grok 4.6 and was trained with a longer reinforcement learning run on a harder mix of tasks. It is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, the same price and speed as Grok 4.6, with a faster variant available at twice the speed and price. It is available in Cursor, Grok Build, the Grok API, and third-party coding harnesses.
Why it matters
Developers and businesses using coding assistants get a model SpaceXAI says is better at verifying its own work, managing longer context, and producing documents and presentations. SpaceXAI also reports strong benchmark results against rivals including GPT-5.6 Sol and Fable 5.1, and says it leads on cybersecurity refusal and biosafety benchmarks.
What’s next
SpaceXAI has started giving select cybersecurity partners invite-only access to Grok 4.7's red-team capabilities for defense research.
A little context · terms in this story
- AI agent
- Software that uses an AI model and tools to carry out steps toward a task. How independently it can act depends on the product and the permissions you give it.AIモデルとツールを使い、目的に向けて複数の手順を実行するソフトウェア。
- Token
- A unit of text processed by a language model, often a word or part of a word. Input and output tokens may have different prices.
- API
- An interface that lets one piece of software use another service. An AI API lets a developer send requests to a model from their own application.
- Benchmark
- A test used to compare performance under particular conditions. A higher score on one test does not establish that a product is better for every real task.
