Google's Apigee hybrid 1.17.0, released September 14, 2026, adds Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, letting existing OpenAPI-described APIs become AI-agent-callable tools without writing MCP server code. Unlike the MCP preview Google announced on Apigee in December, the hybrid version runs the MCP data plane inside the customer's own Kubernetes cluster, so MCP request traffic never leaves that infrastructure.Googleは2026年9月14日にリリースしたApigee hybrid 1.17.0でModel Context Protocol(MCP)対応を追加した。これにより、既存のOpenAPIで記述されたAPIをコードを書かずにAIエージェントが呼び出せるツールに変換できる。昨年12月に発表されたApigee上のMCPプレビューとは異なり、hybrid版ではMCPデータプレーンが顧客自身のKubernetesクラスタ内で稼働し、MCPのリクエストトラフィックがそのインフラの外に出ることはない。
